Mike and Liz were married at the beautiful Samurai Beach Resort in Anna Bay. It was so wonderful having all of their wedding guests staying on site for the weekend so they could celebrate before and after the wedding. This resort is truly beautiful with protected natural bushland and wildlife as well as an amazing beach we could only access via 4wds and yes we got bogged in the sand on the way back up to the reception which was quite hilarious.

After several rainy weddings for months beforehand the day turned out just perfect weather wise for their outdoor garden ceremony. The ceremony and reception were styled to exquisite detail by Olivia George from Bella Eventi in Sydney. The marquee was nestled in between the trees for the reception and the styling was everything you can imagine with white, lemon and green details.

Liz looked stunning in her gown and her bridesmaids wore elegant floor length lemon gowns. They even had the sweetest little flowergirl who sprinkled flower petals as Liz and the girls walked down the aisle. Mike and the boys looked dapper in their suit tails. They were a very fun and beautiful bridal party. Liza was driven to the ceremony in antique Model T Fords that her uncle owns.

On a recent beautiful morning I met this wonderful family who are so down to earth and so in love. The two little girls are the sweetest little angels and you could tell how adored they are by their Mum and Dad (the Dad looks a little like Tom Cruise).

Their eldest daughter was such a delight to photograph and she had so much fun running in fields, picking wildflowers and playing peekaboo behind trees. She was a real girlie girl.

Wow March was a month of weddings and we had extremes in weather with rain, wind and glorious sun. Each wedding was so amazing and I feel blessed to have been a part of each couples day.

As promised I am blogging some recent sessions. This session was of the gorgeous and super pretty baby Juliette, she had the most perfect hairstyle, biggest brown eyes and eyelashes and she was so smiley and happy the while session. Her parents were the sweetest as well and I love capturing that connection between parent and child. Those first 6 months are so special.

This session is very special to me. It is the third session for this gorgeous family, the first being newborn photos of their son, the second session was family photos on the beach at Avoca as their son approached the age of two (and Karen was pregnant at the session and did not know even when I noticed her glow) and then the third photos as they added a beautiful baby girl to their family.

Having a family on the Central Coast is so much fun, you have access to glorious beaches, amazing lakes and waterways and parks. I found this location one day whilst driving near this families home. It is so pure and tucked away in a peaceful spot, complete with a rustic old boat nestled between the trees. I must say when I saw this boat I knew straight away it would be perfect for Master O! He had so much fun running around the boat and jumping in and out.

I hope you love this series of photos, this family is just beautiful and I look forward to photographing them as they grow over the years.

It’s a super sunny Saturday so it’s a perfect day to blog this gorgeous family session that was held not long ago. I am a little behind in blogging so I will be featuring some of my favourite sessions since November in the coming weeks.

I met Christine when we started working out together at a personal training studio, we also share the same birthday and if you met us both you know we are VERY similar in personalities Christine and her family met me at one of my favourite locations in the Hills in Sydney. It was a gorgeous sunny day much like today.

We walked around the park and took in the colour of the spring flowers which were still out in summer. The kids had a lot of fun running around and chasing the ducks on the grass.

The countdown to summer and Christmas has started and I have had many wonderful portrait sessions in the studio and outdoors with many more to come before Christmas break.

One session I had a few weeks ago was of baby Eloise and her sweet parents. I am not a photographer that likes to choose one location and sit there and take a million shots of the exact same scene so you will see me mixing it up and moving around. So when I was chatting to Eloise’s Mum on the phone prior to her session I wanted to try and have part of the session in my studio and part of the session in some bushland close by. I feel that studio shots are quite limiting creatively when adding in family members so the outdoor location was perfect. As you can see below we are so happy with the results. There is nothing like capturing photos of family in nature. Eloise has the cutest, chubbiest cheeks and most gorgeous big brown eyes.

Natalie and Alex, I hope you enjoy your images as much as I loved capturing them. Eloise is such a little sweetheart.

A few weeks ago I photographed baby Bambi. True to her name she had the longest black eyelashes and sweetest little face. Bambi was so inquisitive and kept us entertained by turning her head and following me the whole time to see what I was up to. We got her to sleep at one point and as soon as she heard the camera shutter she opened her eyes and looked straight at us, determined to stay awake to be a part of the action. Eventually she fell asleep again and I captured some beautiful shots in their gorgeous house. The fabric of the lounge cover just had to be used as it was such a vibrant orange and worked so lovely with her skin.

Thank you so much Mia and Tim for letting me photograph your precious little baby girl. It was one of the most warm and rewarding sessions I have ever had.

Last weekend my daughter turned 4. It seems like it took more than a year for her to turn 4 as she had been counting down since she turned 3. I am not sure why kids want to grow up so fast when they have the world at their feet, I think it is more that she wants to be her brothers age so they can do the same things.

When organising her party I had been busy working on some commercial projects and decided to enlist the services of some wonderful designers and vendors to help create an owl themed party for her. She had decided on an owl theme more than 6 months ago (yes she is a planner) and I started searching for the perfect owl invites. I selected a gorgeous range by Fairydust Stylish Stationery, Toni designed the perfect owl printable range which I could run through the candy table setup on the day. She has her full range on her Fairydust Stylish Stationery page. I sent the printables to Denni at Purplex Design and Print for printing and cutting as I had a very small window of time to plan every detail. Denni printed each item so beautifully and she was very quick.

One part of every birthday that I always leave to the last minute and that tends to frazzle me is the birthday cake. I thought the best thing to do was to have a professional make the cake for the first time so I wasn’t up finishing the cake the night before. My best friend Megan has recently started her own cake decorating business CakeCraft by Megan and she is flat out! I managed to squeeze the cake in at the eleventh hour and Megan’s creation, inspired by a cake created by a client of Toni’s, was so gorgeous. Such amazing detail and absolute perfection. In addition to the cake Megan created the super cute owl cookies.

Another favourite part of party planning is the little details such as decorations and favour boxes. I was searching on etsy for some ideas and came across Beautiful Paper Crafts by Lili that makes owl favour boxes. The work that goes into each of these boxes is so wonderful. Recently the studio has been very busy with newborn and child portrait sessions. A recent session was for two cute little sisters with the fairest hair and big blue eyes. The studio atmosphere was so alive with these two. Little Maelie has the biggest smile and cheekiest expressions and her baby sister Liana was so sweet.

Little Maelie will be undergoing open heart surgery at the end of the year as she was born with a heart condition, you will never guess it as she has such great energy and is such a bubbly and happy child.
